Day 53 - Kent, OH to Ludlow, VT

Day 53 - After conversation we decided that we didn't want to stay another night on the road and decided to drive 620 miles in 10.5 hours. We turned off the filters in Google Maps and hit the interstates. Not really much sightseeing today, except for one surprising stop.

Driving 3 hours, we stopped in Jamestown, NY for fuel. Julie had been researching interesting places to stop and discovered that Lucille Ball was buried in Jamestown. We decided to see if we could find her burial site. Lucille is buried at the Lake View Cemetery; when we arrived Julie asked me to ask for directions to her gravesite. Of course, "real men don't ask for directions", so Julie asked and they pointed to a painted line with hearts on it. What a great idea! We followed the hearts right to Lucille and family.

5.5 hours later Julie, using Tripadvisor found us an interesting place to eat. The route was we left the interstate was a winding, steep descent through countryside, that left us wondering where we were going. The Farmers Beef and Brew in Schoharie, NY was a farm to table restaurant with delicious food. We were happy to find this place!

For the rest of the trip we played "who can spot the wildlife first". I won this game hands down. Though we were not home we were back in our home state and town with family.
