California - Week 2
Week 2, Day 1 - Started our morning at Menlo Park Bungalow Airbnb. This is a beautiful place and we spent the morning sitting in the garden bird watching. (Click on any photo to enlarge)
Then off to The Palo Alto Creamery for breakfast, then time with family. The morning was about taking care of the car. Since we had driven cross-country we wanted to change the oil and get a car wash before heading back. I went to Oil Changer for the oil change. It was quite different than anything I had been to before, no appointment required and you sat in your car while the oil was changed. Then Ducky's Carwash for a good wash and a hand dried experience.
We went to Rossotti's Alpine Inn for an afternoon lunch. It's a nice place with outdoor seating.
After, we went to Palo Alto Foothills Nature Preserve.
This was another special place that deserves its own page. To see more photos https://travelingvtjs.blogspot.com/p/palo-alto-foothills-park.html
Ended our day back at the Menlo Park Bungalow Airbnb where we finally went in the hot tub (didn't do that last time we were here).
Day 2 - We started the day with Philz Coffee and Pressed Juicery Acai Bowls. Julie and I had so much fun at Palo Alto Foothills Nature Preserve we went back for a short hike, bird watching and wildflower identification.
After we grabbed lunch and Driftwood Deli & Market, then returned to spend time with family.
Day 3 - There was no shortage of places to get delicious food in Palo Alto and on this morning Jessica introduced us to Manresa Bread where we picked up coffee and breakfast food. Yum!
Later, we walked spent 1.5 hours and walked 2.7 miles on the San Francisquito Trail.
Day 4 - Philz Coffee, Pressed Juicery and time with family. Then we headed to Baylands Nature Preserve and nearby Byxbee Park where we spent an hour walking around, birding and enjoying nature.

Day 5 - Today we picked up a family member at the San Francisco Airport, then dined on Octopus Japanese Restaurant sushi (or at least some of us did).
Day 6 - Spent the day with family and said our good-bye's. On the road tomorrow.
