Black Hawk State Historic Site

The Black Hawk Museum was very interesting and educational. We learned about what life was like in this area and the Sauk and Meskwaki Indians. Saukenuk, the capital of the Sauk Nation stood adjacent to this museum and was the westernmost battle site of the Revolutionary War. Black Hawk was a  famous Sauk Warrior. To learn more about the history of this area https://blackhawkpark.org/history.php. The person working at the desk was very knowledgeable and gave us a fantastic presentation about the people and history of this area. (Click on any photo to enlarge)
