Day 12 - Brigham City, UT to Twin Falls, ID
Today's plan is to drive 216 miles, in 6 hours, with 2 stops along the way, a National Reserve, and waterfalls. (Click on any photo to enlarge)
After spending a couple hours at City of Rocks we stopped at a Country Store that had homemade ice cream. Of course, I had to sample some, a scoop of strawberry and a scoop of huckleberry.
Satisfied we continued on a Shoshone Falls.
Our morning started at Bear River Valley Country Store. Talk about a store that has everything! This was also a hardware store and a popular truck stop as well. Though Julie's hands are on the cinnamon buns, we actually ordered a sit down breakfast and struck up a conversation with a truck driver that had been to Vermont.
The journey was amazing! Google Maps took us 2 hours and 15 minutes, 102 miles (at least 30 miles on dirt roads) to the City of Rocks National Reserve. We only saw two other cars the whole time and questioned whether we should continue following Google Maps? We didn't really have a choice at this point. Lots of farmland, wildlife and cattle in the road.
City of Rocks National Reserve is another special place that I will devote a separate page to https://travelingvtjs.blogspot.com/p/city-of-rocks-national-reserve.html
As we headed towards Twin Falls both our stomachs were growling. It was 3PM and we hadn't eaten since breakfast. Suddenly, there was Piggy Sue BBQ wagon.
and ended our day at an AirBnb - Steps to the Canyon Rim in Twin Falls, ID.
