Day 3 - Findley Lake, NY to Maumee, OH

Slept very well at the Old Schoolhouse Music Cottage  AirBnb. Woke up to 32° outside and a dusting of snow. The host gave us a tour of the Old Schoolhouse (which they live in); it was a large open room, post & beam, with narrow wainscoting boards, and chestnut floors; several antiques. We ventured to the waterfront of Findley Lake and found a great store Twin Docks Gourmet Food & Deli for breakfast sandwiches, local beer and specialty foods. I bought two cream ales, one strawberry and one Irish Stout. (Click on any photo to enlarge)

Today's plan is to drive 5 hours, 270 miles,  with several stops for covered bridges and waterfalls. We left Findley Lake headed for Ohio where we would take a short Covered Bridge Tour. We discovered these bridges are huge compared to Vermont.

First, the Middle Road Bridge.

Then, the State Road Bridge

Next was the Benetka Covered Bridge

And lastly, supposedly the longest covered bridge in the USA. Smolen - Gulf Covered Bridge; it's covered, but a new construction.

Our time ran out for checking out covered bridges, we were still on a timeline to get to Maumee, Ohio.

Our next stop was Chagrin Falls, OH. The falls are right in the middle of town.

From here we headed to a Chik-fil-A in Solon, OH because we had never eaten at one. It was nothing to brag about, so let's move on.

Brandywine Falls in Cuyahoga Valley National Park was our next destination. It's another special place and deserves its own page.

Finally we headed to our AirBnb Suite T B&B in historic Maumee, Ohio.

We had an extra room!

Maumee, Ohio has lots of history. It's a place we would have loved to explore more. We were able to walk a few streets and see a few interesting buildings.

Guess what we found less than a block from our Airbnb? Jacky's Depot even made vegan ice cream!

Finished the day with those two beers. They were okay, but nothing I would buy again.
